For a typical company these are: Customer Acquisition, Product Development, Order to Cash, Procurement to Fulfillment, and Servicing. Operations Strategy Assessment
$4,100/project
Timeframe: 1 months

This assessment is the entry point to increase operational performance and to build a culture of continuous improvement. It is not an exhaustive exploration of every corner of operation. The assessment work is time bound to focus on the most critical areas of the business and largest opportunities for improvement. This assessment will provide an outline of problems to solve, it is not a roadmap of solutions to implement. You will learn about your operation and how it produces or does not produce the desired results. The focus is on operational capability and the degree of success as perceived by the leadership team.

Project Phases

Overview

How Chalmers St. Performs the Operations Strategy Assessment: For each functional area we explore the standard processes and informal norms that allow the organization to function. We look across the organization within 5 segments to understand your ability to sustain and improve your processes.

1) Roles and responsibilities - We explore the division of responsibility, the clarity of ownership, and the alignment of skills within the role.

2) Team Governance - We investigate the structures of individual and team interaction along with the role that metrics play to align team objectives.

3) Workflow Management - We explore the processes and technology that enable the completion and control the quality of value-added work in each of the core functions of the organization.

4) Performance Review - We examine the use of metrics to determine the health of processes within each function and the use of metrics to provide feedback and expose systemic opportunities for improvement.

5) Process Improvement - We investigate the formal and informal approaches to make changes to the work that the organization performs.

In addition to these 5 segments, we explore the mindsets and motivations within the organization. This provides insight into the culture of the organization. We identify the motivating purpose of the organization and explore employees’ abilities to autonomously see problems and collaborate to resolve them. Understanding culture is crucial as we dive into the next level of improvements.
